It is held on Saturday (two weekends before Ash Wednesday), at the Wssell de Guimbarda Central Sports Pavilion in Cartagena.

It begins with a children's show, transforming the Central Sports Pavilion into the heart of our ancient city. At the Children's Gala, the Children's Queen is chosen from among the candidates presented by the Carnival Groups in spectacular costumes. Children's dance groups perform, and there's always something for everyone to enjoy.

Then, the Grand Gala of the Cartagena Carnival, which shows us the imagination and great work of the Comparsas with their candidates for Queen, spectacular costumes born within our Comparsas, girls full of enthusiasm bearing the weight of their fantasies with nerves on edge, the Choreography Groups show us their rhythms, hours of rehearsals that bear fruit on stage and always with surprises that make this show renew itself year after year.
