It is held on Sunday, following the Queen's Election on Saturday, at the Wssell de Guimbarda Central Sports Pavilion in Cartagena.
It was held until 2010 in the Jiménez de la Espada Institute Pavilion, but this venue became too small and it had to be moved to the Central Pavilion where more than 4,000 people gather to see what has become one of the most emblematic events of the Cartagena Carnival.
There are two categories: Children and Adult. In both categories, groups from our city and countless other locations in our region participate.
First, the children showcase their dances, which they have been preparing for a year. All their effort is rewarded on stage where they enjoy performing their choreographies. Then come the adult choreographies, with impressive staging where they show the work of a whole year. Dance and magic once again fill the Pavilion, which is packed to capacity and enthusiastically experiences the Regional Competition. Year after year, the Choreography Groups surpass themselves, currently having a level worthy of admiration.
